About the piece:
The process used to create this etching involved coating a nickel plate in beeswax, and scratching a drawing in the wax with a fine metal tool. The plate is then dropped into an acid bath, which etches the exposed metal.
After the plate is cleaned, it is inked and run through a press.
Only six prints were produced with this design. The plate has since been destroyed. |
